November Nine 2011 lineup

They will battle it out on the 5th of November for the Main Event bracelet

Day 8 at the Main Event of the World Series of Poker just ended, and we’re now in a position where we know the names of the players that will compete on the 5th of November at the tournament’s final table. The leaderboard changed every single day of the competition, and even on the eve of the final day nobody could say all the names of the final table players for sure.

Martin Staszko was the clear winner and chip leader at the WSOP today. With over 40 million chips and a 6 million gap between him and the next in line, he clearly deserves the number one spot. He finished in the money four times at the WSOP this year and only cashed in $20,000 from all the events, but he now has the highest chance of winning more than 8 million dollars if he manages to maintain his position.

Eoghan O’Dea was second, and he was even chip leader for 40 hands on Day 8. He is definitely a name to be remembered, and he is probably the one that can pose the most problems for Staszko in the final table event. Next, we have Matt Giannetti, with 24.75 million chips. When the players were seated at the final 10-player table, he was in last place. However, he managed to climb to third, so he’s also a name we’re going to be looking for at the main November event.

Phil Collins is fourth, and he has just under 24 million chips. This poker pro is quite famous in the online poker scene, and he’s proven his worth at the WSOP as well. He’s followed by Ben Lamb (20.8 million chips), who was a tough contender and lead a constant pursuit of the top position. A couple of unlucky hands and bad decisions left him 9 million chips poorer than when he started the day and quite a few places lower on the leaderboard. He’s also the lowest-ranking American player on the list.

The leaderboard is completed by Badih Bounahra, Pius Heinz, Anton Makievskyi, and Sam Holden, who have all qualified for the final event. The November Nine event is set to start on the 5th of November and it will decide the 2011 World Series of Poker Main Event winner, who will receive the coveted WSOP bracelet, as well as $8 million.
